1st Annual Life in Canada Review: 1999-2000A year ago, February 13 of 1999, I started writing for Suite101. It is easy for me to remember the exact date because it's the day MLG (Maple Leaf Gardens; wonder why I didn't just write it normally in the first place, oh well) closed. I could always look at the first article and see when it was published on the net but the closing of Maple Leaf Gardens is what brought me to the net. I was looking for info on the Gardens when I tumbled on Jeff Justiz's Ice Hockey article Whose The Big Winner? Written before the closure of MLG. Anyway, I decided to look around and read other articles on Ice Hockey by Jeff and latter thought, hey, maybe I could do this (mostly after reading more about suite101), I looked around trying to find an Idea when I stumbled (I had been doing a lot of tumbling and stumbling then) on the topic list. I, being from Toronto, went directly to read Life in Toronto by Donald Blair Jr. and that's when I decided to write about Canada and trying to think of a name for my topic chose to follow the steps of the guy who'd end up being my future manager, and call it Life in Canada. So that's how I got to Suite101. I started writing about Canada's history, which I've done quite often writing about Canada's history in General, Military History, Flag's history... I also have done some sort of coverage of Elections. The longest being for Ontario (four parts) but not wanting to do that amount of effort and work again I started doing elections in two parts: the parties and the results. Anyway here are a little interesting facts about articles of this year. BEST ARTICLES
