These are just battles where Canadians have distinguished themselves but they have participated in many other battles. On November 11th 1918, the war was over and Canadians went home. Canada had played an important role and that was recognised by the world as Canadian prime Minister Robert Borden signed the Treaty of Versaille with other nations.

World War II

Two decades after the end of World War I, A German man named Adolf Hitler had wanted to re-establish the Pre World War I Germany. He took Czechoslovakia and Austria but France and Britain let him do so because he promised that would take any more. Next thing you know, he invades Poland in September 1939. The Allies now once again were at war with Germany (and Italy and Japan). Now Unlike in the First World War, Canada wasn't dragged into war. Since 1931, Canada had the right to join Britain into war if it wanted to. A Week after the British, Canada declared war on Germany (September 10, 1939).

Since the Germans controlled Europe (except Britain and what the Russians controlled), not much battles happened involving Canadians until 1941. In 1941, Canada was sent to Hong Kong to protect the British Territory from Japanese Control. Unfortunately, Canada didn't have the skills they did in 1914-18 and the Japanese controlled Hong Kong as of Christmas Day of 1941 when Canada and Great Britain Surrendered. Next came the Battle of Dieppe in August 1942 in France. The Allies needed to re-establish the Western front and sent Canada to Raid Occupied France at Dieppe. This was no D-Day. 5,000 Canadians were sent and 2, 800 didn't get back to Britain.

Most of the Allied Battles were done in Africa. The Allies decided to attack the Axis in Italy. Canadians, Americans and British landed in Sicily. The Allies were invading Italy bit by bit and got to Rome in June 1944 at the Same time something more important was happening: D-DAY!

After months of Planing, Americans, Canadians and British attacked Normandy on June 6th 1944. The Americans were stationed at Omaha and Utah (code Names), Canada was at Juno and the British at Gold and Swords. Canada was to attack Caen as well. In August the Mission was complete and The War in Europe was ending.

Canada had sent 1 100 000 men, 42 042 of them were killed and another 54 414 were wounded leaving 1 003 540 survivors.
