GD: Which current awareness tools do you use to "keep up" with developments in the profession? (Which listservs, journals, websites, news sites, blogs, conferences?)

BC: I do a lot of surfing. My link bar in IE has the following sites: moreover.com, slashdot.org, metafilter.com, fark.com, news.com, and wired.com

I’m subscribed to web4lib, uwebd, collib and publib (I rotate between lists to see what’s going on in different areas.) Most of the stuff I really read in depth has to do with the web and technology. It seems in the past librarians have used email to keep up to date, and in contact, but this may be moving to the web now.

My director has now started reading his LisNews, and recently made a recommendation that we act on an article mentioned there.

He is performing a terrific service.
