How To Find Company Information on the Internet

For News/Background Information . . .

Performing searches in general news sources such as NewsCentral, NewsDirectory, and NewspaperLinks is a good way to find news on your chosen company. You might also check Magportal.com and Findarticles.com for magazine articles. It's also a good idea to monitor breaking news sites like BizJournals.com, Excite NewsTracker, and Company Sleuth.

For Industry Information . . .

Yahoo! is a great place to go for industry information, particularly Yahoo Industry News and Yahoo Finance - Research by Industry. Another source is the Industry Research Desk. And remember to look at some of the resources listed above in Starting Places, like Hoover's and Fuld & Company, which are also excellent for specific industry research.

And finally, if you still haven't found what you're looking for, realize that there are information professionals that specialize in finding hard to find company information. If you're looking to pay someone for in-depth research, try looking through the AIIP Member Directory or Burwell's Directory of Information Brokers to find an information expert who fits your needs.

Have a Very Merry Christmas!
