Losing a LhasaThe last two weeks have been, indeed, heartbreaking for me and other Lhasa lovers. Two of my internet friends have had very ill Lhasas in the last two weeks. One is, thankfully, recovering well now, but the other probably will not. She is suffering from a brain disorder that has caused her to no longer recognize the people who love her or remember that she loves them. She is terrified of everything and everyone, even the buddy she raised from a pup. Losing a Lhasa Apso, for some reason, seems to be more devastating than losing a regular dog. It is more like losing a child than a pet, perhaps because Lhasa owners are so closely bonded with their Lhasa's or because they are so close to human. In either case, losing one, even one not your own, is unbelievably traumatic. To have someone you love not only not know you, but be afraid of you is even more tragic.
