Quick Learners

We are currently operating a hospital ward here. We have been providing 24 hour care to eight groaning girl lhasas. Having made the decision to discontinue our breeding operations, we had all of the females spayed. You would think we'd had them drawn and quartered instead of just spayed.

We have long discouraged the kids from jumping on and off of furniture and beds to avoid any possible back or leg injuries. They all have steps for getting up and down, but we, in a moment of weakness, decided that we would provide lift service to the girls for the first few days, just to be on the safe side.

We did not take into consideration how quickly Lhasas learn or how well they adapt to being cosseted. Within a few hours, they had figured out that we were going to lift them up and down, freeing them from the responsibility of doing anything for themselves. They, of course, decided just as quickly that they really liked this new arrangement.

By the end of the first evening, we were in a position of constantly lifting someone either up or down, it was like they had all gotten together and come to the conclusion that it was their sworn duty to keep us occupied with this process on a constant basis, no rest breaks allowed. No sleep allowed either, they continued to demand to be lifted up and down every few minutes all night long for several long nights. Long before we had determined that they were able to use their steps , they determined that they had no intention of doing so....ever again!

Needless to say, this difference of opinion created a situation fraught with tension and dissension. We are still in negations over this problem. Someone is going to have to give in here. Geeze, I sure hope it's them.
