Twas the Night Before Christmas.........

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring...............well except for two little white Lhasa Apsos who were stirring into just about everything.

The stocking were hung by the chimney with care in the hopes that Kyra and Tiffany would not tear them down and eat the contents and then the stocking before Christmas morning.

The children were nestled all snug in there bed while visions of grandma chasing the puppies out from under the Christmas tree and racing to rescue the gifts they were happily ripping the bows off of danced in their heads.

Papa and I had just settled down for a long winters nap when out in the living room there arose such a clatter I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the living room I flew like a flash, tore open the door and flew down the hall. The Christmas tree lights on the new chewed up towel gave the luster of snowflakes to the carpet below.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but two tiny lhasas with bows on their ears. With paper in beards and glitter on hair, I knew in a moment it must be the gifts.

More rapid than eagles these coursers they came, and yipped and barked as I called out their names. Oh Krya oh Tiffany what have you done. To the top of the stairs ignoring my call, now dash away dash away dash away all.

To the top of the chair to room down the hall, with gifts in their mouths these angels they flew, with trailing ribbons and name tags too.

Then in a twinkling I heard in the dark the prancing and pawing of each little foot. I drew in my head and was turning around when down the stairs they came with a bound.

They were covered with tatters from the tree and the gifts, and gave not a thought to my deep, baleful looks.

Their eyes how they twinkled, their ears how they flopped and they wiggled all over with the effort of wagging their tails.

They made not a sound but went right to their work of out-racing Mama and grabbing the loot.

Then laying their tongue alongside their mouth the sprang to my arms to face gave a lick and cuddled up closely as though I were IT.

As I carried them to bed and tucked them in tight, I swear I could hear as I tuned off the light, Merry Christmas, Mama, we're done for tonight.
