Puppy Love - Or Maybe NotPUPPY LOVE - OR MAYBE NOT As sweet and lovable as Lhasas are, they can be very exasperating. They can be the most stubborn little individuals on the face of the earth when they choose to be. When they and idea in their heads, you can't blast it loose with dynamite. No amount of coaxing, scolding or bribing will dissuade them from their elected course. You can physically redirect them, of course, but it won't last any longer than it takes for them get loose again. Sunny, for example has decided that he is misplaced. When he is forced to stay in Marta's house, he deliberately fights with Dancr and Butch, chews up paper, and refuses to have anything to do with Marta or Deanna at all. He pouts constantly, even refusing to eat at times. He has decided, for reasons known only to Lhasas, that he should live at my house. H steadfastly refuses to come to Marta or Deanna, and runs from them when they try to pick him up. He will not willingly enter their house and has to be picked up and put inside. The minute he gets outside, he runs to my door, scratching and whining to be allowed inside. Once in, he is a perfect little gentleman, never naughty or troublesome or fighting with his sisters. Now Sunny has always lived with Marta, ever since he was 6 weeks old. Up until recently, he has been perfectly happy there. He liked to visit me, but never objected to going home. There is still no doubt that he loves Marta and Deanna, he fawns all over them when they come to my house, he simply has decided he does not want to go home with them anymore. Nothing has happened to provoke this sudden change in attitude. No traumatic events, no lack of attention or new addition, not since Dancer anyway, several months ago. He is well fed and well cared for at home. It is not that he has a better position here, in fact, here there are two others in line ahead of him since neither Kyra or Tiffany are willing to give him any difference and we do not pay any more attention to him than we do the girls. At home he does have Butch as Alpha dog, but Dancr gives way to his position. I doubt that it is because the girls are both female since they treat him far worse than Butch would ever dream of.
