More Lhasa Friends

It is hard to pick a starting point. We have so many Lhasa friends and their humans. I think it would be appropriate to start with Tiffany and Kyra's Lhasa family, though.

Kyra and Tiffany's parents are Lady Fair Gwynavive Chandlor and Sir Wesley Snipe of Chelsea, affectionately known as Chandlor and Wesley. Chandlor and Wesley are both wonderful parents, caring and concerned, but dispensing gentle discipline when their offspring need it. Wesley is much more involved in the lives of his puppies than most males. He paces nervously outside the whelping box when Chandlor is delivering and takes an active part in raising his youngsters. He is guardian and babysitter, constantly watching and containing errant puppies. Chandlor is a gentle and loving mother but a rather strict disciplinarian demanding instant obedience from any and all of her brood, even after they have humans of their own. She is a patient teacher and will spend any amount of time necessary training her babies in acceptable Lhasa behavior. Amazingly enough, Chandlor and Wesley's puppies are all house broken by the time they are ready to leave for their new homes.

A distantly related cousin, Tarheel, has recently been a happy addition to the family, and human members, Kirt and Kathy, have thoughtfully provided a kitty and a dog, Chelsea, for the Lhasas to play with. This wonderful family lives in the Kansas along with Kathy's sister, Karen and her adorable brood, Carrington, Ty, Payton and darling little Sophie.

Recently, Chandlor and Wesley presented their humans with a surprise. Although Kirt and Kathy had decided not to allow Wesley and Chandlor to have puppies so soon after Tiffany and Kyra's litter, the Lhasas had a different idea altogether. Some how they managed to accomplish at least one romantic encounter because, lo and behold, what Kathy thought was a false pregnancy turned out to be Devonshire. I guess the sheepish looks and proud grins had a reason - a secret rendezvous when Kirt wasn't watching and Kathy was out of town resulted in a big surprise for Mom and Dad! Nevertheless, everyone is delighted with the surprise. He is a big, beautiful Lhasa boy. Since he was the one and only, and Chandlor and Wesley usually have a big family, speculation is that they managed to fool Dad only once.

One thing about it, it has caused me to keep a closer eye on Tiffany and Kyra so they don't provide me with a surprise of their own before I think they are ready.
