Year End Wrap Up

As the year comes to a close I want to wrap it up with an overview of what we've done here at the Letter and Paper Arts as well as look forward to the future. I began this topic as a monthly contributing editor in February 2000 thanks to my daughter's urging. Eight months later, in September I decided to go bi-weekly because I was enjoying myself so much and my reader feedback from email was incredibly positive. That same month I began a series titled Paper Arts/Projects for Kids (PPFK). It is your emails that spur me to create new articles as well as form the direction the Letter and Paper Arts takes. I hope that in 2001 I continue to receive you input, feedback and suggestions so that I can make the Letter and Paper Arts not just something I enjoy doing and writing about, but something which is an interactive tool for you as a letter or paper artist or afficianado. To recap what we accomplished this year:

In 2000, we learned about how-to make paper at home from terminology, to making pulp, to a specific method as well as how to store your supplies,

In 2000, we began a series of Paper Arts for Kids based on reader emails who asked for projects they could do with their kids, whether it be at home, daycare or another caregivers creative space,

In 2000, we learned new techniques for paper arts using materials we used as children and creating new joys from the wonders of crayons,

In 2000, we learned how to say thank you through paper, how important just one sheet can be to making someone happy and how generations can be touched by paper used artistically to say I love you,

In 2000, you learned about this topic for the first time,

In 2001 we will learn about alphabets from around the world beginning with the Hebrew Alphabet which is also commonly referred to as the alefbet. We will learn fascinating facts about alphabets and how they work as both visual and written tools of communication and creativity. In 2001 we will continue with Paper Projects for Kids - a fun series of easy to do arts and crafts for all ages of kids whether you're a kid for the first time or are working your way through a second childhood! In 2001 we will share ideas with one another and make the Letter and Paper Arts a site to remember.
