Paper Arts For Kids

In looking over all the various paper projects I've done throughout the years, and most recently when I became more passionate about it as I've aged and grown to appreciate the art as more than just a hobby pursuit I have found that many of the things I've done could easily be adapted to fun and easy projects for kids. So, I am creating a monthly segment of my topic entitled Paper Projects for Kids. Every second Friday of each month you will find a project that you can do with children. Each monthly article will contain a what you will need materials list, as well as step by step instructions from preparation to the finished piece with optional variations that you can use to embellish or further experiment with the projects. I encourage you to submit me .GIF or .JPEG images of your finished projects to include on these pages. You can email them to me, just make sure I know the name and ages of the participant so that they can be properly credited. All copyright remains with the artist, and this is a great opportunity for your child (or you) to get your work published online. The only thing you must be aware of is that Suite 101 reserves the right to publish it exclusively online for 90 days. After that period you may publish it online elsewhere, and Suite 101 reserves the right to publish it indefinitely at their discretion, which allows your image to enhance the text here. I also would appreciate your feedback on successes, as well as knowing what troubles you may have had with the projects. These can be posted in the discussion area. If you are a daycare or school using the project, please let me know and if you have a website, perhaps we can link to you and a page of your art or craft projects. As safety is a major issue when working with children, I will try my best to provide suggestions for safe and non-toxic materials or alternatives wherever possible. Your suggestions and feedback in this area are always welcome. I hope you'll check back every second Friday of each month for a new Paper Project For Kids. And remember, although these projects are geared toward children that doesn't mean they aren't fun for adults as well!
