A Lavender Christmas at the Movies

where Santa realizes that outcast Rudolph is the only reindeer who can save Christmas. I didn’t know then. I do now.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Made for TV, 1999)
Stars: Patrick Stewart, Richard Grant, Saskia Reeves, Joel Grey
Plot: Stingy, mean-spirited Ebenezer Scrooge (Stewart) is shown the error of his ways by three holiday spirits.
LBGT Connection: Well, the male angels do wear gowns and makeup, but that’s not the connection I was thinking of. Rather, I would like to point out that the heterosexual Patrick Stewart also starred in Jeffrey (1995), an amazing comedy/drama about gay life and love in New York during the age of AIDS. If you get overdosed on holiday sweetness, turn off the heralding angels and go for this Paul Rudnick gem.

So, no more excuses. You now have the scoop on holiday movies with LBGT connections (such as they are, anyway). If I’ve left any out, please email me or leave a note in the comments section. Now, get thee to a video store.
