So! You've eaten all the turkey and followed that with mounds of Christmas pud - got to get a year's worth in right? Now what?

Is it time to sit back and relax? Spend Boxing Day watching footie with your feet up and eating cold turkey for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Or are you one of those people who despite having drained your wallet have yet to drain your energy, and you're itching so desperately to get out and do something? Well have no fear, the battwoman's here.

Hide those annoying 'beeping' toys off the kids, drag either the poor, no doubt, disheveled wife out of the kitchen, or the snoring couch potato from his pit and go burn off all of that Christmas cheer!

I've been through the best the city has to offer in terms of entertainment to see you through the New Year and beyond. No more boredom!

The theatres are always a good place to start!

The Haymarket Theatre is hosting the good old 'Wizard of Oz.' See Dorothy traverse the 'Yellow Brick Road' up close and personal. The kids should love this one. It's playing until February 3rd. Tel: 253-9797
The De Montfort Hall brings us an oldie but a goodie. 'Joseph and his amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' plays until January 6. Tel: 233-3111
The Little Theatre has another Christmas favourite, 'Mother Goose.' It can be seen from Dec 28-30 and then Jan 1 through the 6th.
Loughborough Town Hall - 'Hansel and Gretel-The Pantomime,' plays until January 7. Tel: 01509-231-914
Melton College Theatre - 'Aladdin' until December 30th. Tel: 01664-851-111

Three of the top movies playing right now, 'Charlie's Angels, Family Man and The Grinch' can all be seen at:

Warner Village Cinema Tel: 289-4001
The Odeon Cinema Tel: 08705-5050007
The Curzon Cinema Tel: 01509-212261
Call the cinema's for showing times.

If you really want activity, then the three upcoming guided walks should be right up your alley.

A Victorian Christmas - potrays how Christmas has developed from the Victorian celebration. This will begin at the Town Hall Square on Boxing Day at 2:30 PM. Tel: 299-8888
A Breath Of Fresh Air -stroll along the river and work off that pud! Begins 10 AM Dec 27th at Belgrave Hall. Tel: 261-1576
Castle Park Ghost Walk - A must for ghost lovers and hunters. Set in Mediaeval Leicester, spine chilling tales of not so ordinary buildings. St. Mary de Castro Church, Dec 28th. Tel: 299-8888

Care to indulge in something with a little culture? Then there are a feast of arts coming your way.
