Coalville and Snibston Discovery Park

Leicester was the first city to create 'Virtual Reality,' and so it seems only natural that the park has incorporated these special effects into it's attractions. The 'Virtual Reality' display is especially interesting. From defying the winds of a tornado, you can be sympathetic to the insect population and view the world from an insect's eyes. It might just make you less inclined to squish that ant in future!
Alternatively, you can visit the Light Fantastic Gallery, where can revel in the prisms, lenses and fibre optics which are on display.

Perhaps the park's most charming character is the human factor. People who can tell us of history as it witnessed and perceived. Tours are led by former 'pitmen' who detail for you exactly what life in the mines was like during the 60's and 70's. There's no better way in my opinion, to hear about the singularities of history, than from the very mouth of the horse itself!!

Snibston Discovery Park is obviously bringing pleasure to thousands, it's educational components can surely only encourage children to learn? After all, we all know that kids learn better when they can touch right?? So take the kids along, I'm sure you'll lose them for awhile, and while they burn off some energy, you can enjoy the sculpture trails and landscaped grounds!!
