Paul McCartney’s Concert for New York© Caroline Paone
Paul McCartney has rallied top musicians to strengthen the WTC relief organizations. A star-spangled lineup will gather at Madison Square Garden on October 20 to help our country in this time of tragedy. Artists such as James Taylor, Macy Gray, the Who, John Mellencamp, Melissa Etheridge, and the Goo Goo Dolls have signed on for Paul McCartney's "The Concert for New York."
This cause is near and dear to McCartney, whose own father was a fireman in London during World War II. The famous bass player is hosting this concert to benefit New York City's fire department and families. Proceeds will be donated to the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which helps needy families in New York and the Twin Towers Fund, which benefits rescue workers as well as other relief organizations in the city.
