Among those to be honored is a Latino legend-- Roberto Clemente. Fans, history buffs and stamp collectors can relive the soaring home runs, dazzling catches and overpowering pitches of Roberto Clemente, Ty Cobb, Mickey Cochrane, Eddie Collins, Dizzy Dean, Jimmie Foxx, Lou Gehrig, Josh Gibson, Lefty Grove, Rogers Hornsby, Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Satchel Paige, Jackie Robinson, Babe Ruth, George Sisler, Tris Speaker, Pie Traynor, Honus Wagner and Cy Young. So what's so special about Roberto Clemente? He was the first Hispanic elected to the Hall of Fame and admired for his outstanding hitting, quick arm, and charitable spirit. With him, the Pittsburgh Pirates won two World Championships. 200 million of the stamps will be printed. They are available at U.S. Post offices now. These stamps are illustrated by Joseph Saffold of Savannah, Ga. Phil Jordan, of Falls Church, Va., was the art director for the project.
