Choosing gifts for gardeners isn't hard. They're easy to please. For the most part, gardening gifts are affordable.

Something that will always please them is a course at the Suite. There's one to suit everyone's particular interest.

They're sure to love a premium membership to My Garden Guide Gold. This is the premium online library for gardeners. They can do zip code searches on the site to find the best plants for their growing area. There are also weekly gardening features, quizzes, and much more.

How about a gift membership to their favorite plant society or botanical garden? This is something they can enjoy throughout the year.

Perhaps they've expressed interest in having their own website. Make that dream a reality by giving them one of Suite 101's new personal websites. They won't have to get involved with FTP, or bother learning html. Instead they can spend their time adding content.

Gardeners always appreciate seeds and plants. Take cuttings from some of your herb plants, and give them as holiday gifts. Or start some herb plants from seeds for indoor herb gardens.

If you aren't sure which varieties or kinds of plants they prefer, just buy a gift certificate. Thompson & Morgan has the widest selection of garden seeds around. Each order comes with a seed planting guide.

Who wouldn't love to receive a subscription to the Baer's Almanac and Gardener's Guide? 2004 marks the 179th year of its appearance. The best gift of all is a five-year gift subscription. Edited by Gerald S. Lestz, this beautifully illustrated guide features timely gardening tips, weather information, and many articles on topics of interest. This is only one of the many fine titles available from John Baer's Sons, which specializes in gardening, cookbooks, and folklore.

If the gardener loves crafts, the perfect gift would be quilt patterns, such as the Lavender Patch quilt pattern by Roxy Burgard from C & T Publishing. Suitable garden quilt books include "Appliqué Inside the Lines-12 Quilt Projects to Embroider & Appliqué" by Carol Armstrong, featuring flowers, fruits, roses, leaves, and other garden-related themes. "Luscious Landscapes-Simple Techniques for Dynamic Quilts" by Joyce R. Becker features an entire chapter of garden quilts. These are also from C & T.

Gardeners are always pleased to receive calendars. There are many fine herb calendars and ones with garden-related themes, including ones from Graphic Arts Center Publishing Company.
