Over the next couple of weeks I will be giving you patterns for miniature dolls and accessories from one to four inches tall. The owner for the Carry Basket and Hu Hu dog is not known, but if you are the designer, please let me know so I may give you due credit. Let's get going then with the first necessity, the basket for baby. Then, our little doll needs a cuddle friend, so make her the darling Hu Hu.
Carry Basket Bedspread weight cotton in white or light brown. Suitable small crochet hook. Do not turn work at the end of a row. Bottom Row 1: Chain 21, 4dc in 4th chain from hook, sc in each of next 16 but work on the other side on the cast on ch: dc in next 16 ch, join. Row 2: Chain 3, dc in same st, 2dc in each of next 4 sts, dc in next 16 sts, following 16, join. Row 3: Chain 3, *2dc in next st, dc in following st* repeat from * 4 times, dc, join. This is the inside of the basket. Cut thread and repeat from beginning. Now put both parts with wrong sides together and crochet them with a piece of cardboard in size of the bottom and put it between the two of them together. Join at the end of the sc row, do not cut thread. Side Row 1: Chain 3 *front post double crochet in next st, back post double crochet in following st* repeat to end of row. Row 2: Chain 3, *back post double crochet, front post double crochet* to end of row. Join. Row 3: As row 1. Row 4: As row 2. Row 5: As row 1. Row 6: Chain 1, sc in same st, *sc in next 22 sts, chain 15, skip 4* (first handle), * to * join. Break off thread. Spray with starch and let dry overnight. When dry, weave two ribbons through top of the basket running from end to end. See picture ( tie in bows at head and feet end). The HuHu No. 18 needles, 1 ply wool in dark brown. All worked in garter stitch. Cast on 22 sts, k 7 rows. Row 8: Cast off 6, k 16. Row 9: Castoff 6, k 10. Rows10 to 19: k10. Row 20: Cast on 6, k to end. Row 21: Cast on 6, k to end. Rows 22 to 27: k22. Row 28: Cast off 6, k to end. Row 29: Cast off 6, k to end (1O sts).
