Small And Tiny Things

Getting started with miniature knitting requires first, the necessary needles, or whatever you wish to use as such, and of course fine yarn. Our first thoughts would be perhaps to knit for a 4" porcelain doll with spring pink silk, then finish the beribboned set with the softest, soft wool shawl in a Shetland lace pattern that was so light you could blow it across the room with one breath. But, after that, what else can we do? I offer you knitted mice, a mere square of a wedding handkerchief, plus other unusual items that will have you clutching skillfully onto a set of double point size #0000 needles in no time. Apart from crochet thread, you can also experiment with flower floss and sewing cotton. Some people with unmovable nerves have knitted and embroidered with human hair, but I shall reserve that for a future tidbit.
