Knitted Lingerie Links
This week I have gourmet desserts for all you knitted lingerie lovers. KnitNet online magazine has two designs, both in medium weight yarn, for you to adore making. If you've been doing a lot of sweaters, socks and caps for everyone else, now is the time to ice your own cake. Because the yarn is not fine, it won't take long to see the results, and you will have some classic garments to show off without the time involved for the usual 2ply or 3ply baby weight wools. Rita Mae
is a softly feminine set knitted in frosted cotton yarn and comprises a camisole and tap pants. You'll love the twining vine pattern that delicately climbs up the left front, and repeats itself on the lower border as an edging. Sally is a picot-edged camisole in Patons DK Ecru, a "yesterdays" color. The body is knitted in half-twist stocking stitch, which is easy but just a bit different. White Lies Designs offer romantic knitables for plus-sizes (what I call "lusty" and "extra lusty", being a lusty knitting wench myself). This isn't a camisole pattern, but it's close and I love it, especially the darting which is important if you are full-busted and want a decent fit. Shapely Tank Top is a must have, neat little item knitted in Egyptian cotton and the design uses short row shaping for truly shapely lines. From Skacel comes this simple but unusual number, Prince Camisole.
