Striped Blackberry Stitch

This rather old, well-known stitch has never lost its favor. Used again and again, the nutty appearance reminds one of a cozy autumn fall. It is one of those rare stitches that looks splendid in a bizarre assortment of colors and is perfect for using up those odd, but short lengths from your stash. Change colors after every two rows and you will be delighted with the striking effects. Try it on teacozies and full skirts. The amazing colors of Africa would be well displayed on a cushion. Imagine the subtleties of those sunset and earth combinations, or even stark black and white for a zebra background.
