Shredderman
Shredderman: Secret Identity is by award winning author Wendelin Van Draanen, the author of the Sammy Keyes mystery series.

Nolan Byrd is a smart fifth grader nicknamed “Byrd-the-Nerd” by the class bully, Alvin “Bubba” Bixby: “born big and mean, full of teeth and ready to bite.” Bubba has given awful nicknames to Nolan and his classmates, including moron, worm lips, and butthead.

Bubba Bixby is a bully – he cheats, steals, lies, cuts in line, and terrorizes little kids. Even teachers and principals can’t seem to stop him. Nolan thinks it would take a superhero to make Bubba behave. But what no one knows yet is that there’s a little superhero lurking within Nolan’s nerdy exterior, just waiting for the chance to bust out.

Bubba takes advantage of everyone until Nolan makes Bubba the subject of his class project. Using his digital camera and Internet skills, Nolan creates a website to take care of Bubba Bixby…for good.

This adventure shows that we all have a “superhero” within us. We can stand up to bullies and help rid the world of mean nicknames. This is the first book in a series of 4, all of which are now available.

Jillian,

This looks like a great read for all those kids who are being bullied. I will have Brandon read it. He may be able to take care of a few bullies in his own life with tips from the story.
