The Mystery of the Missing Turkey


Happy Thanksgiving!

Right now many of you are preparing for a wonderful turkey feast today. Maybe you’re even watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. For the Kids’ Korner Mystery Book Group, I thought we would try something a little bit different this week. In fact, I would like YOU to become the mystery writer!

Imagine that you sit down to your Thanksgiving dinner and the turkey has gone missing! What happened to the turkey? Did the turkey mysteriously run off before being cooked? Could any of your relatives or friends be the turkey-taker?

Did your mom play a role in this turkey disappearance? Did your little brother have curious pieces of turkey along the edges of his mouth? You love Thanksgiving turkey and have taken on this detective mystery of discovering the infamous turkey-taker!

I would like you to write a short mystery about this Thanksgiving caper. You can set up the clues, action, and even figure out who the turkey thief is going to be!

I’ll start a discussion entitled “Turkey Mysteries”. Please feel free to post your turkey mystery on this discussion topic. However, please keep your gobble adventure under 500 words.
