Apple Cake in a Jar

The holiday season is fast approaching. This year, get your kids in the kitchen and make something from the heart! This delicious cake mix is perfect for holiday giving. Let your child help you mix the ingredients, then decorate the jar with ribbon, raffia or stickers.

Apple Cake Mix

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon powdered vanilla
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup chopped pecans

Combine all the ingredients. Pour into a large jar with a tight-fitting lid. Attach the following directions to the lid:

Apple Cake

1 jar Apple Cake Mix
1 1/2 cups oil
3 eggs
3 cups chopped apples

Grease and flour a Bundt pan. Set aside. To the apple cake mix, add the oil, eggs and apples. Stir until combined. Pour into prepared pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from oven and cool.
