Filling:
Shell:
Grated cheddar cheese Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Add garlic salt and chili powder. Mix well. In a bowl, combine the masa harina, baking powder, salt, pepper and water. Mix with hands to form a dough. Roll dough into 2-inch balls, then flatten into a round disc, about ½-inch in thickness. Fry the shells in shortening until lightly browned on both sides. Drain on paper towels. With a sharp knife, make a slit down the center of the shell and open with fingers. Stuff with meat mixture. Serve with grated cheese, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo and sour cream. * "Masa" means "dough" in Spanish. Masa harina is a flour made from dried corn. It can be found in most grocery stores near the Mexican food section. Bush Baked Beans
3 cans baked beans Fry the bacon until crisp. Remove, cool and crumble. Add the chopped onion to the bacon fat. Sauté until soft. Add the baked beans, Coca-Cola, brown sugar, mustard, tomato sauce and crumbled bacon. Simmer about 10 minutes. White House Chili 1 pound ground turkey Brown the turkey. Drain. Add the beans, along with their liquid, the hominy and the green chiles. Add the seasoning mix and water. Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer about 20 minutes. Serve with grated white American cheese and chopped green onions. You'll find more White House-inspired recipes at Recipes Today!
