Family Dinners

Family dinners are back in style! Nothing gets a family together and communicating better than sitting down and having a meal together. It's a great time to share your thoughts, let everyone know what's on your mind, and share in each other's lives.

Remember:

  • Family dinners don't have to be homecooked meals. Pick up dinner, or call the pizza man.

  • TURN OFF THE TELEVISION!!!

  • Watch your manners.

  • Treat each other with respect.

  • Establish a regular time to eat.

Here are a few simple recipes to make for your family dinner. All three have only three ingredients and are a snap to throw together. (From the article Dinner As Easy As 1, 2, 3! at Recipes Today.)

Baked Fish

1 pound trout or whitefish fillets
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dillweed

Coat a shallow baking dish with vegetable spray. Place the fish in the dish and sprinkle with cheese and dillweed. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for about 8 minutes.

Italian Flank Steak

2 envelopes Italian salad dressing mix
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 flank steak, about 1 pound

Combine oil and dressing mix in plastic resealable bag. Add steak and shake to coat. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight. Grill or broil until desired doneness.

Yogurt Pie

4 small containers yogurt, any flavor
1 container Cool Whip
1 ready-to-serve graham cracker crust

Fold yogurt and Cool Whip together. Pour into crust. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
