Fun Drinks for Kids

Here are some fun recipes for budding chefs.

Simply Delicious Punch

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of frozen fruit punch
  • 1 large bottle of lemon flavored soda
  • 1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream
Directions:

  1. Put frozen fruit punch into a large bowl or punch bowl.
  2. Add lemon flavored soda and stir until all ice crystals have dissolved.
  3. Scoop entire 1/2 gallon of ice cream into the bowl. Ladle into fancy cups and serve.

Cranberry Iced Tea

Ingredients:

  • 2 quarts of frozen iced tea
  • 1 can of frozen cranberry juice (use cranberry apple juice if desired)
  • 1 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
Directions:

  1. Combine cranberry and orange juice in a large pitcher.
  2. Pour in the iced tea. Add sugar and stir well until it is dissolved.
  3. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Serve in frosted glasses or mugs.
Glasses can be frosted by putting them in the freezer section of the refrigerator.

Hot Apple Cider

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of apple cider (apple juice may be substituted)
  • 1/4 cup concentrated orange juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
Directions:

  1. Put all of the ingredients in a saucepan. Warm on stovetop on medium heat.
  2. Pour into cups and serve.
The microwave can also be used to heat this drink. Put all ingredients into a cup and heat for 1 minute.
 
Spiced Milk

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups white milk (2% is best)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions:

  1. Pour milk into saucepan. Add cinnamon and nutmeg.
  2. Place on stovetop on medium heat. Stir constantly until warm.
Whipped cream or chocolate sprinkles can be added if desired. If you wish to make this one in the microwave, put all ingredients into a microwave-safe cup and heat for 1 minute.

When you talk about frozen iced tea, does that mean you buy it frozen? I have never seen it in the market before. I usually make my own iced tea: I use four cups of hot water poured over 10 teabags ...
