Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so I thought that I would share a few of my favorite recipes with the words, "Chocolate Kiss" in the title. I've collected these for years and if anyone can add to these, please post in the discussion forum at the end of this article.

Chocolate Kiss Cookies

What you will need:

11/4 cups of softened margarine

1 cup of white sugar

2 large eggs

31/4 cups flour

72 chocolate kisses

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

What to do:

Cream the softened margarine in a mixing bowl. Add the sugar and beat with an electric mixer until fluffy.

Add eggs and vanilla extract - Blend well.

Mix in flour with your hands.

Drop onto a non-stick or greased cookie sheet with a teaspoon.

Remember to leave 2 inches between cookies, so they won't stick together.

Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 10 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown.

When you remove cookies from the oven, press a chocolate kiss into each with the point up.

Cool and serve, or store in an airtight container.

Makes 6 dozen (72 cookies)

Chocolate Almond Kisses

What you will need:

1/2 cup of white sugar

1/2 cup of softened margarine

1/4 cup of egg substitute (This can be purchased in most grocery stores)

1 teaspoon of almond extract

11/3 cups of flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup toasted almond slivers

24 chocolate kisses

What to do:

Cream the softened margarine. Add the sugar. Beat with electric mixer. Add egg substitute and almond extract.

Mix flour and baking soda in a small bowl. Add to egg mixture.

Shape dough into balls, about one inch in diameter. Roll in almond slivers and place on non-stick or greased baking sheet.

Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for approximately 7 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from oven. Place a chocolate kiss on each while still hot. Cool and serve, or store in an airtight container. Delicious!

Choclate Kiss Peanut Butter Pie

What you will need:

2 tablespoons whipping cream

1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter

1 package of vanilla pudding mix

13/3 cups of milk

24 chocolate kisses

1 prebaked 9 inch pie shell

What to do:

Melt chocolate in a double boiler. (An adult will know what this is.)

Mix with 2 tablespoons whipping cream

Blend well and spread evenly in the bottom of the pie shell.

Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours.

Place dry pudding mix and peanut butter in a saucepan on low heat.

Add milk by stirring in with a wire whisk. Be sure to stir constantly until the mixture thickens.
