Hi Kids! Mrs. Claus here. I've just finished sewing Santa's new suit. It's all ready for Christmas Eve. That's a relief.

You probably know that Santa loves hot chocolate. It warms him after being out in the frigid temperatures here at the North Pole. I have several recipes for Santa's favorite drink, but I've always kept them secret. Until now! This year, I'm going to share a few of them with the good girls and boys here at Kids' Korner.

Santa's Favorite Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

1 egg yolk, beaten

2 ounces of chocolate syrup

2 cups milk

Method:

Beat egg yolk and stir into milk

Add chocolate syrup

Scald in a saucepan on the stove. (Scald means to get really hot, but not to boil.)

Serve with marshmallows or chocolate shavings.

Coconut Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

2 cups (1 pint) vanilla ice cream

1 cup fine coconut, or coconut flakes

1/2 cup of your favorite cocoa

1 quart milk

1 cup cream of coconut

1/2 cup of your favorite chocolate syrup

vanilla extract

Marschino cherries

Method:

Scoop ice cream into 8 balls

Roll in coconut

Place on non-stick cookie sheet and freeze

In large saucepan, combine milk and cocoa

Add cream of coconut and vanilla extract

Scald

Pour into Christmas mugs. Float frozen ice cream balls in the cocoa. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and top with a Marschino cherry. Delicious!

Hot Chocolate and Whipped Cream

Ingredients:

4 cups milk

4 packages of instant hot chocolate

2 cups whipped cream (store bought whipped cream can be used) example: Cool Whip

Pour 4 cups of milk into a blender

Add 4 packages of instant hot chocolate

Blend on high for 1 minute

Add 2 cups of frozen whipped cream

Blend until smooth

Pour into saucepan and scald

Pour into Christmas mugs

Add 1 tablespoon of frozen whipped cream

Top with chocolate flakes or a Marschino cherry

Please try all of these delicious hot chocolate recipes. They will warm you after sledding, ice skating or playing in the snow. Ask an adult to supervise when you are heating the milk.
