Memorial Gardens Revisited - Page 2

My memorial garden is a special bed that I started when a young garden friend died. To this garden over the years, I have added plants and bushes that have some special significance or special name of loved ones that have passed on. I have a weeping pussy willow in memory of many furry friends, a special flower in honor of my father, grandfather, etc. I planted a Black-eyed Susan in memory of a friend (Susan) who died. I have planted Bleeding Hearts, Forget-Me-Nots, and various other plants with significant names or that have memories tied to them because they loved that type of flower, etc.

Whatever you do, make the garden a special memory for yourself and your family. If your family is intact, perhaps you will want to plant something that expresses your thankfulness, or a red, white, and blue garden or something else that expresses your feelings. Again, I am sorry for the many who have lost their lives recently and I hope that this article will help families find some comfort and healing over time. Hugs to you all! Hug your family close!
