Bounce Off the Walls with BSo, here we come to the letter B. There are lots of fun ways to explore this letter. Make sure to remind the kids of the letter when making the crafts. Talk about what it looks and sounds like. QUOTE- Children are the anchors that hold a mother to life. Sophocles 496 BC - 406 BC CRAFTS- Make bead necklaces. Depending on the size of the hole in the bead, you can use string, yarn, or fishing line. Kids can either string the beads in any random pattern or a pattern that you pre-select. Track down all your extra buttons and put in a big pile on the floor. Let the kids sort through the buttons. They can make piles of big and little, pairs, or colors. Make blue birds for their rooms. Trace circles (head), wings, and beaks (one for each child). Let the kids cut out the pattern. Use blue construction paper for the body and the head, yellow for the beaks, and white or light blue for the wings. Glue the body parts together and let the kids draw eyes and color the wings. Attach yarn to the wings and hang in their room. Make a family of brown bears! Let your imagination go wild. You can use a paper plate by painting it brown and adding pom poms, tissue paper, markers, etc. to make a bear face. We also made some cute bears with brown paper lunch bags, markers and brown yarn. Make a beach ball for the house. On white construction paper, trace a large circle for kids to cut out. With a black marker, make a small circle in the middle and divide the ball into six sections. Kids paint the sections different colors. Make a baby collage. Let the kids look through magazines and catalogs to cut out pictures of babies and baby items. Glue the pictures on paper or make a small book. Ever tried painting with balloons? Blow up long balloons. Dip the tip in paint. Paint balloon shapes on paper. Try making some binoculars. Decorate two toilet paper rolls and then use two paper clips to secure the rolls together (one at the top and one at the bottom). Punch holes in the sides and string the top to hang around child's neck. (This was my 4 yr old's favorite!) Make a B of Beans. Let each child make a big B with glue on their favorite color of construction paper. Then have the kids put beans (dried) on the glue.
