Campfire Cooking

Getting ready for that camping trip, but need some good recipes to try? Here are some fun recipes to use on camping trips whether leaving the backyard or not. Along with the recipes listed... check out these links to great camping cooking resources.


One Pot Meals
(Will Serve 12+)

FIRST: Put into a big pot......3 pounds hamburger (browned and drained)
2 chopped onions
1 chopped green pepper

SECOND:

1.To make instant spaghetti you will need to add:
1 can tomato soup
4 14 ounce cans spaghetti

Cook until heated thoroughly

2.To make hunter's stew you will need to add:
6 cans vegetable soup -or- 4 16 ounce cans mixed vegetables

Cook until heated thoroughly

3.To make ranch style beans you will need to add:
2 cups catsup
2 packages onion soup mix
2 28 ounce cans baked beans

Cook until heated thoroughly

4.To make Chili you will need to add:
3 16 ounce cans stewed tomatoes
3 15 ounce cans kidney beans
3-4 tablespoons chili powder

Cook 10-30 minutes until done.

5.To make beef macaroni you will need to add:
1 pound cooked macaroni
2 16 ounce cans tomato sauce
1 sauce can water
2 teaspoons garlic salt

Cover and cook for 25 minutes

6.To make Spanish rice you will need to add:
3 cans tomato soup
1 soup can water

When boiling add:
14 ounces Minute Rice

Cover - remove from heat and let sit 5 minutes
