What you will need: Celery stalks A jar Food coloring Water
Put desired amount of food coloring into the water and then put the stalks in the jar. Let set overnight. When the kids see the stalks the next day... they will notice that the veins in the celery stalk has turned color. You can explain to them the reason of this being that the stalk needs nourishment and it drank the water and colored the veins "insides" of the celery stalk.
