Car Games and Camp Songs

With summer well and truly here it's time to look at some sites to help everyone maintain their sanity both on the car trip to the cottage and when they get there. What do you need? You need car games and songs! This week I'm going to focus on sites that provide the distractions everyone needs to pass the time in the car and on those rainy days at either cottage or summer camp.

One site you will find worth the visit is Car Games at family.com. This site also has restaurant games, waiting games and shopping games. Car Games at liveandlearn.com and another page just called Car Games. This last page also has a link to other games that your parents might remember. If you still need more, check out my previous article on car games. This article has links to word search and crossword puzzles you can print out to play in the car.

If you exhaust these games and still need more then it's time to sing a song. Below you will find a list of sites that have words for your favorite camp song. They are in no particular order.

• Campfire Sing-Along at Cottage Country Online
• Camp Walt Whitman songbook which has sound samples for some of the songs
• Girl Scout Camp Songs which has guitar chords for most of the selections (Updated Aug. 2000)
• Songs for Scouts (Added Aug. 2000)
• Camp Henry Songbook (Added Aug. 2000)

During my travels to research these links I came across a few more sites that had lyrics for songs that were a bit gross. I wasn't sure whether to include them or not, what do you think?
