I thought I'd be just a touch cute this week, hence the title. My kids have become quite interested in mazes this week so I thought I'd help guide you thorough the labyrinth's of the Internet to the best maze sites I could find.

The Saint Andrew's mathematical Science's maze-a- riffic page has an illustrated maze you can with a hermit or two to visit to on the way. No Java or stuff required and very neat pictures. One Gram software has some shareware/freeware games you can download on their Puzzle Program download page. Included there are four programs to draw different styles of mazes. Mazes at delorie.com generates either text or image mazes on the fly for you to print out and solve. The Maze Game is a javascript page with mazes that you solve by moving your mouse pointer through the maze. Your time is recorded but if you hit the wall it's back to the beginning! The World Wide Maze is similar to maze-a-riffic but has groovy graphics and is designed like a house, with windows and doors.

For those of you who's browsers support Java their are a wealth of cool Java maze applets out there. AMazeGame is a maze that requires you to pick up blocks scattered around the maze and times how long you take. I found James L. Dean's 3D Java maze in quite a few places on the web. This page also has some other interesting maze resources. Eric Grove's Maze gives you a choice of a 3D or a 2D maze to solve with nice sky graphics in the 3D version. If your tired of solving the maze yourself Widener Universities Maze game has a cute little mouse who solves the maze for you. Java Jive has a five Java games including a four level Space - Time maze that allows you to travel backwards and forwards in time. The really cool feature of Maze is the automapping. Press the TAB key when your in the maze and an overlay of the maze showing where you have visited shows on the screen. Makes solving a bit easier especially if you don't like mapping yourself.
