Happy Valentine's day (Part 1)© Wayne Dawe
After a brief respite from the grand Chinese New Year celebration, it's
time to move onto the next big holiday of the season, Valentine's Day.
Valentine's Day is one of those holidays with a bit of a checkered past
but two sites that give a history that is safe for the whole family are
Hallmark also has an article
on the Story of St.
Valentine. Both of the Hallmark articles are illustrated with
photographs of historic Valentine cards. Don't forget to click on the
picture to get a bigger view. The National Museum of American History not just for kids
page also has some pictures of historic American Valentines. Click
on the V to see. Grace Sylvan has a fun Valentine's
day page with games, puzzles and links. Be sure to check out two of
my favorites that are listed on Grace's page, Bry-Back
Manor which has new activities for all the major holidays and Be my Valentine said Billy Bear at worldvillage.com. Deborah Jeter, Suite 101's Music Education editor. also has a Valentine's day article chock full of great sites to visit. If you're a first-time visitor, don't neglect browsing through some of my
past
articles. Be sure to visit Kids on Suite
101. This page gives you pointers to other kid-friendly topics and
links on Suite 101. Also, don't miss the Suite 101 feature on Black History
Month running throughout February here at Suite 101 and don't forget to drop into Winter Olympics on Suite 101 and see what the other editors at Suite 101 have been up to. See you next
week; be sure to come back again. P.S. Don't miss the second part of this article which has more great Valentine's day sites which comes out February 10th.
