Important notes: Don't try to make a backyard rink unless you're sure of below-freezing weather for the time you expect to skate. Next point: it works much better if you spray or flood your rink at night so you're not fighting against the sun. Now, since you've been so patient, here's some sites for you to visit:
Don't forget that no matter what kind of skating you're going to do, always wear appropriate safety equipment. A helmet designed for the sport, knee pads and elbow pads will keep you from taking a spill that could prematurely end your season.
