I've been hanging around in comp.internet.net-happenings again and have come across a few sites that I think you might find of interest.

Camp Habitat is a free on-line expedition. During the expedition, participants will explore two Florida Habitats (the pitcher plant prairie and the pinelands) and then compare those habitats to yours. There will be daily activities, weekly contests, a unit plan, teacher pages and student pages.

Little Explorers is a picture dictionary for younger children. Many of the words link to a slightly longer article of related stuff and the pictures are quite cute too. This site also includes Spanish, French, German and Portuguese dictionaries as well.

Franklin Institute Online has a list of kid produced sites in the following topics: Science, Art, Social Studies, Mathematics, Language Arts, School Newspapers and Miscellaneous.

Don't miss the Seventh Annual Read In! on May 11, 2000 at www.readin.org They are hosting 22 children and young adult authors, each on-line, live for one half hour. It is fun, it is FREE, and celebrates reading and literacy.

Learner.com has a great section on Amusement Park Physics This interactive exhibit explores how the laws of physics play a role in the design of amusement park rides. Activities include inviting visitors to design a roller coaster and determine the outcomes of bumper car collisions.

Like Butterfly pictures? Then check out www.images.on.ca/JayC/. Here you can see Jay Cossey's butterfly pictures and read how to take your own butterfly pictures.

FunBrain.com bills itself as - "The Internet's #1 site for K-8 teachers and kids". This on-line educational games site is for kids of all ages. Subjects covered include: math, grammar, science, spelling, and history. Much more fun than it sounds, check it out.

Cells alive! is Jim Sullivan's visual tour of cells: their life, death and interaction.

Heavens Above will tell you which satellites will appear over your location tonight, from which direction, and when. It's a good idea to use this site soon, because the brightest satellites of all time will disappear shortly. Check the to the "Iridium flare" schedule while there is still time. Mir and the International Space Station are also bright enough for viewing from a reasonably dark location.

Easter is about three weeks away so I have verified the links on my Easter article from last year. It also has links to my two articles from 1998 which have not held up as well but still have a few good working links.
