Lazy Summer Sites© Wayne Dawe
It's summer and the heat makes us all lazy. Right now it's 34 degrees
Celsius outside and far to hot to be doing anything athletic so let's
surf the web. My first site this month is Weird Al: The Saga Begins. This
site has the newest video by Weird Al Yankovic who if you haven't heard
of him has made a career out of doing parodies of other people's songs.
Be warned that if you haven't seen Star Wars: The Phantom Menace then
this video that is based on Don McLean's American Pie will give away much of the plot.
Unfortunately one of the better campfire song sites has disappeared. This particular site had chords for budding guitarists and was mentioned in my article last year on car games and camp songs. So many of those sites have disappeared I looked up a few more for this year. They are BUSAG Camp Fire songs, Camp Seneca Lake Songbook, Camp-Song Songbook and Grant's Scouting Songbook should provide you with enough songs to last until next year. Grant's page even has music samples for many of the songs so you can learn the tunes. Most of these sites were picked off the absolutely huge Link to music Lyrics page. I got a nice letter from Jonathan's Mom asking me to visit Jonathan's World In her words "An Irish toddler invites you to visit him in Hong Kong. Read his hilarious diary, try some games and puzzles, discover his city, see his photos". It seems like a nice site so I thought I'd pass it along to you. I just got back from a trip to Pittsburgh and because some kind reader informed me of the sad state of the links in my article from '97 about kids & bikes I have updated the links. Be sure to check out the great article at Sheldonbrown.com on teaching kids to ride a bike.
