(Note: The Internet is a dynamic place and web sites can come and go quite quickly. This is one of my older and some of the links may not work anymore. If you find that this is the case I invite you to look at some of my more recent articles. My links section has my favorite links from past articles and is checked regularly for non working links. This past weekend was our church picnic and as I was sitting in the shade pondering about what to write for this week I thought, why the heck am I encouraging people to stay inside and play with their computers when the weather is so nice? It was only later I remembered that on Saturday I was outside trimming my trees and had to come inside because it was too hot. For those who may not know I live just north of Toronto in Ontario Canada. Unlike many other parts of the world we only have two and a half months of really warm weather here and we tend to go a bit nuts when we get it. Clothing is minimized, and all anybody can think about all week is getting out of town on the weekends to the cottage. The best cottages are situated on a beach, less desirable ones on a river and one week in August I expect to be at one. Until then I may have to satisfy myself with cruising the links below.

Summer Fun has activity suggestions for things to do when the kids get bored with playing in the water. For the older kids pick up a copy of the US Outdoor volleyball rulebook and you may be cheering on your kids at the Nagano Olympics. The April 96 newsletter from 1st tech has the answers to some of the key questions you may need the answers to. Answers to questions like, "why is the water so cold ?" will soon be at your command. Kids Beach has links to some beach and kid-related sites including the official Freestyle Frisbee site. Some kids who may get to visit the beach everyday are those of the Cardiff School District. When you get back from the beach you can check out the listing of beach-related software at computerpages.

On a more serious note, here are two links about kids cleaning up the beaches in their neighbourhood. Save the Beaches - 96 and Garbage ... and more Garbage discuss the problems caused on beaches by our lack of respect for the environment.
