Pets and Wild Animals

Do you like animals?

I sure do.

What's your favorite?

I think I like horses the best, but you know what?

I'm allergic to them.

Bummer.

Anyway, I've got some great animal sites for you to visit today.

Do you like wild animals?

The Canadian Wildlife Service has a Hinterland Who's Who website that has lots of great information about wild animals, where they live, a place to leave your wildlife story and read other stories. There are a ton of fact sheets on wild animals, so you'll probably find what you're looking for here: http://www.hww.ca/index_e.asp .

Are birds your favorites?

Then you'll want to click on this site: http://www.pbs.org/lifeofbirds/brain/ind... , The Life of Birds.

Did you know carrion crows in Japan put walnuts on the road so cars will run over and crack them? Then they have a feast. There are lots more bird facts at this site.

There are games to play at this WWF site: http://www.panda.org/news_facts/educatio... , having to do with wildlife and the environment.

How fun is that?

How many of you know the answer to this question:

Do whales breathe under water?

Want to find the answer?

Then go to this Zoom Whales site: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subject... . You'll find it.

If you really like dogs then you'll want to visit this Suite101.com Bow Wow! Site: http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/bow_... . Lots of neat articles here on dogs.

Perhaps you'd like to visit the Pet Lady at Suite101.com Kids' Korner: http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/pets... .

Finally, if you can't have a pet, why not get your own virtual pet at Neopets, http://www.neopets.com/ ? Learn how to take care of your pet, go shopping for your pet and play fun games.

Hope you've had fun.

But wait!

There's one more link to information on dinosaurs and dragons: http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/kids... - don't miss it. There are some great links there, so be sure to click on them.

If you have time to post in the discussion area it would sure be fun to know which was your favorite site.

Until next time!
