Christmas is close and I hope you are having fun. Did you try the links in my three Christmas articles? Well, there are other kids' links at Suite101.com that you don't want to miss. Here they are:
Websites for Kids - http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/kids (This is where you are now; click on "Welcome Page," upper right, to see what else is at this site.)
Take a peek at all of them. It will keep you busy for a long time, and there's a lot to see at each site: articles and links galore.
Each writer has put together other links; click on the link under "Best of Web" at each site and you will see all the great complementary links these writers have researched for your enjoyment.
Since snacks are always fun when you are on the computer, how about some easy cooking so you may have a treat while surfing?
Jell-O Jigglers for Christmas:
Ingredients:
2-1/2 cups boiling water
4 packages of red or green Jell-O (small box)
Pour dry Jell-O into a bowl and add boiling water (you may want to let an adult help if you have not cooked with boiling water before). Stir for about three minutes until the sugar in the Jell-O is dissolved.
Put in the refrigerator for at least three hours. Dip the bottom of the jell dish quickly in hot water, cut and eat with your fingers.
Yummy! And so pretty for Christmas. You can eat these while you surf the Internet.
½ cup softened butter
½ cup shortening (I use margarine)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
¼ cup sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
2 - ½ cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
one small package of instant pudding, any flavor
1 package chocolate chips
½ to 1 cup chopped walnuts, if desired
Cream butter and shortening with eggs, vanilla and sugar. Then add flour, baking powder, pudding, chips and nuts, if using. Will make a stiff dough.
Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until starting to brown on the top.
