I can remember peeking into my mother's closet at Christmas time to see what I could see. My mother always kept the toys on the top shelf, and I would be so excited to see some of the things
I asked for. I would pray that those were my things and not my sisters or brothers.
I would walk around with a grin on my face for those last 2 weeks of December, knowing what I was getting.
But Chris you ask, wasn't it disappointing on Christmas morning to know everything that would be under the tree? My friends I am smart, but my mom knew me too well
I am 32 years old and even now I like to peek. I like presents wrapped in cheap paper best, as it is easy to see through. Yeah, I know the tricks of the trade. Christmas dinner at our house consisted of steak, french fries and corn. Yes it was odd. My friends families all had turkey or ham or lamb. My mother had 8 children and after a while there was only my one sister and one brother remaining at home with me and my mom.
My siblings and I so looked forward to our dinner on Christmas, because even though it was odd, it was ours. Our own tradition and we loved it. It was easy for my mom to make for just the 4 of us, and we didn't get to have steak all that often in our house.
Having kidney failure or being on dialysis does not mean your holidays won't be enjoyable. Get enough sleep to handle the holidays which can sometimes be stressful. Ask for help from family and friends if you get too tired or harried. Don't skip any dialysis treatments. You will feel poorly for it, with possible Go To Page: 1 2
