Catherine meanwhile would never see the king again. Although she attempted to see him, he refused to acknowledge her and she was sent to Syon and guarded there. Adultery in a queen was seen as treason and so Catherine would face the executioner's block. She would also be executed on the very same spot that her cousin Anne Boleyn had been.

On February 13th 1542, Catherine was led to her death. Some of her last words were in dedication to Culpepper --

"I die a Queen, but I would rather die the wife of Culpepper."

She was buried near Anne Boleyn, the two ladies had shared the same fate and now almost shared the same grave. Catherine was between the ages of seventeen and nineteen when she died.
