Transitions

Life with or without diabetes is never static but instead is always changing. Transitions for the better or worse are made but life exists because change is constant. My own personal life is currently undergoing changes, thankfully all for the good, but it has caused me to come to a point where I must make decisions in order to accommodate them.

Writing for Suite101 has been a satisfying and pleasant experience for me but the time has come for me to take a breather and finish some other projects that I have put on the back burner for some time. This article will be my last article for Suite101 and I heartily encourage anyone that is interested to apply to become the next editor for the juvenile diabetes topic area.

My passion for juvenile diabetes education and cure research will not cease as I end this article. It will always be with me until the day that my son and all the other victims of this disease have shaken loose of it's grasp and are able to live life in the fullness that was intended for them.

Juvenile diabetes research is at a climatic stage at this time and research advances are being put forth in the media almost weekly. It has become almost impossible for me to keep up on all the advances and data and I feel it is a disservice to my readers for me to continue on as editor of this topic area.

Because I know how important hope is to the diabetes community, I would prefer to allow someone who is more capable time wise to take over as this topic area's editor in order to keep the readers abreast of current breakthroughs.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read the articles. Thank you to those of you who have written to me and shared your fears and hopes with me. It's been wonderful being a part of the Suite101 family and I know that you will extend your kindness to the next juvenile diabetes topic area editor as well.

God Speed,

Jeni Tambash
