Before You Vote...

On November 7, we who live in the United States will go to the polls and cast our vote for our choice of who will represent us as President. The candidates have tossed their ideas and promises out to us for inspection but often more is said or not said by carefully listening or reading between the lines.

For the families who live with diabetes, it's of the utmost importance to understand EXACTLY where each candidate stands on issues of health care and diabetes cure research. Before casting your vote this upcoming Tuesday it is in your own best interest to ask yourself how your candidate stands on this all important issue.

What is your candidate's view on diabetes? Does he truly understand the seriousness of the disease and the mortality rate that it carries? Does he understand the economic impact of diabetes on our entire economy versus other chronic diseases?

What is your candidate's stand on cure research? A large percentage of cure research is relying on embryonic stem cells as a way to cultivate the mass supply of islet cells needed in order for a cure to be available to more than just a select few. Will your candidate's position help or hinder this important research?

Will your candidate be able to stand up against special interest groups that could possibly slow up the needed research to find a cure for diabetes? What has your candidate's past track record shown to convince you that he will indeed be the President that will finally cut through all the hindrances to be able to bring diabetes cure research up to the same level as other cure research?

Time is running out to ask all the questions that need to be asked but with the internet it is easier than ever to find out more about a candidate's position before casting that all important vote. The links listed below are an excellent beginning to find out more before you vote.
