Soul SearchLike the Anasazi in the works of fiction by Kathleen O'Neal Gear and W. Michael Gear, Jung saw that we all have many aspects within us. And like the Gears' characters in their novels, we need to give much care to our multiple "souls" or parts lest they become dark and attack us in ghostly fashion to the ruin of all. In order to do so, we must be open to the messages we receive from the collective unconscious, the mirroring of our psychic dramas in dreams, myths, fairy tales and other symbol systems - even in literature. As Jung says, "One must learn to know oneself in order to know who one is." (21) References and Suggestions for Further Reading: Beowulf Gardner, John, Grendel.
