Our Hectic Schedule

Mar 1, 2001 - © Rachel Vardis

too many days already! At the rate we are going, we will be done by the end of June. It doesn't matter to me really because I would prefer year round teaching, but the kids like that summer off.

As long as we have schooled, they have never really had a summer vacation like public school kids. We have always gone year round. I don't like that same old thing every day. It gets monotonous after awhile. In my state (Florida) we have to do 180 school days. I am learning from various people around the country that they only have to do 175. I think we are going to move! :-) Yet 180 days is not literal 180 days, but the equivalent of that amount of instruction, so the school board can see progress. After we are done with our year, we would have completed about 150 days of actual school. So, I guess it's not too bad then!

I hope you enjoyed this article and wasn't too much to read!
