The PWC Controversy - Getting Along With NatureBoatsafe.com addresses safety issues concerning safe PWC operation, but also discusses certain environmental issues that PWC operators need to consider. A brochure published by the Personal Watercraft Industry Association, An Environmental Guide for Personal Watercraft User sets forth several ways that PWC users can operate using environmentally safe boating practices. Finally, we should all review the PWC Code of Ethics. Number 11 states, "I will pay close attention to the noise my vessel may make and be aware of how others on boats and on shore react to that noise." Remember, when you are out on your PWC, you are representing all PWC operators. We must act responsibly because we are responsible for the fate of our sport. Catch you on the waves! Karen K. Patton
