Spring is definitely already here in Houston. The flowers are blooming and the temperatures are already reaching into the 80's. Maybe you haven't thawed out from the winter freeze yet, but I am sure we are all at least dreaming of Spring. After you pull the cover off of your PWC and dust the cobwebs off, you will need to do a little spring cleaning on it before you take it out for the first run of the season.
We all want to spend more time on the water and less time hauling our PWC in for repairs. Doing some proactive maintenance could ensure that you will spend more maintenance free hours enjoying the water. There are several sites on the Internet which can help you with tech questions and maintenance tips. One of the best articles to read at the beginning of each season is A 12-Step Program To Get Your Season Started Off Right by Personal Watercraft Illustrated. This article was written several years ago, but still contains invaluable information on properly preparing your PWC for the upcoming season and hopefully avoiding costly repair bills due to improper maintenance. The article outlines the twelve (12) basic steps of preseason preparation to ensure that your PWC is ready to hit the water. There are also several good sites which offer tech tips and answer your questions about PWC maintenance. The Personal Watercraft Information Center has a Maintenance section with a list of maintenance tips to remember in order to help you maintain your PWC in good working order. Personal Watercraft Illustrated Online has updated their site and has a new feature called The Basics which answers fundamental questions regarding PWCs, including questions on how to purchase a PWC, required equipment, launch ramps, trailers and rules of the water. Whether you are new to PWCs or consider yourself a veteran, everyone can use a refresher in the basic fundamentals from time to time. A couple of personal PWC homepages also feature great tech tips. Steve Antczak authors a site entitled Steve Antczak's Waterworld. Steve says that he likes to do all of his own maintenance, repairs and modifications and, as an amateur mechanic, he is always looking for good PWC tips. He posts some of the best tips he receives on his website. Brad's Racing Site has tech advice for SeaDoo lovers. As you will soon learn when you visit his site, Brad is a Canadian who has a passion for racing and loves his SeaDoo. Go To Page: 1 2
